ELDT THEORY COURSE

   This course is intended to meet all theory (knowledge) requirements listed in the federal regulation 49 CFR Part 380, Special Training Requirements, and includes Sections covering Basic Operation, Safe Operating Procedures, Advanced Operating Practices, Vehicle Systems, and Reporting Malfunctions, and Non-Driving Activities. 

Upon completion of this course, your results will be submitted to the Training Provider Registry (TPR).

160HR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL TRAINING (CDL A)

    

This Behind the Wheel training and observation course is designed to provide our students with basic knowledge and skills in preparation for successfully completing the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) exam.    

 PROGRAM FEATURES

Safety Tractor-Trailer Operation 

Map reading and route planning 

  Driver's Daily Log & Hours of Service

 Airbrakes   

Pre trip instruction, stop/start, couple /uncouple

Basic Preventative maintenance, tire chain installation, mirror   

Backing Instructions (straight line, offset, 90 degrees alley, parallel parking)    

Driving Instructions (upshift, downshift, in-town/ traffic driving, entering and exiting freeway ramps, serpentine)

3 WEEKS-Monday to FRIDAY 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

120HR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL TRAINING (CDL A)

    

 This Behind the Wheel training and observation course is designed for students that have minimal experience driving and backing a Tractor-Trailer. It is a refresher training in preparation for successfully completing the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) exam.       

 PROGRAM FEATURES

Safety Tractor-Trailer Operation 

  Driver's Daily Log & Hours of Service

 Airbrakes   

Pre-trip instruction, stop/start, couple /uncouple

Basic Preventative maintenance  

Backing Instructions (straight line, offset, 90 degrees alley, parallel parking)    

Driving Improvement (upshift, downshift, in-town/ traffic driving, entering and exiting freeway ramps, serpentine)



Skills Assessment is required to qualify for this course.

80 HR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL TRAINING (CDL A)

    This behind-the-wheel training and observation course is designed for students who have sufficient experience operating a tractor-trailer. It is a refresher training in preparation for successfully completing the commercial driver’s license exam.   

 PROGRAM FEATURES 

  Driver's Daily Log & Hours of Service

 Airbrakes   

Pre-trip improvement

Backing Improvement (straight line, offset, 90 degrees alley, parallel parking)    

Driving Improvement (upshift, downshift)


 Applicants must be able to safely perform backing and driving maneuvers to qualify for this course.

Skills Assessment will be required.

1 WEEK-Monday to FRIDAY 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

40 HR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL TRAINING (CDL A)

     This course is designed for students who used to have a CDL or years of work experience operating a tractor-trailer. It is a refresher training that focuses mainly on pre-trip or a specific backing maneuver in preparation for successfully completing the commercial driver’s license exam.   

 PROGRAM FEATURES 

  Airbrakes  

Enhanced Pre-trip

Enhanced Backing Maneuver (straight line, offset, 90 degrees alley, parallel parking)  

Enhanced driving   


Applicants must be able to perform safely and adequately all backing and driving maneuvers to qualify for this course.
